Both parties reiterated their commitment to the provisions of the 2007 agreement between the (formerly) Supreme Council and (currently) Court of Cassation of Morocco and the Supreme Court of Senegal. Both parties underscored the importance of activating its provisions by establishing collaborative judicial mechanisms, facilitating the exchange of expertise and best practices, and strengthening cooperation on training, modernization, and other matters of mutual interest.
The meeting provided an opportunity to examine Morocco's approach to judicial independence, explore the intricacies of the Kingdom's judicial structure, and review ongoing initiatives related to judicial training, modernization, and digitization.
On the Moroccan side, attendees at the meeting included the Prosecutor General at the Court of Cassation and President of the Public Prosecution, the Vice-President of the Court of Cassation, the Council's Secretary-General, the Inspector General of Judicial Affairs, the Director General of Financial and Administrative Affairs, the chamber presidents of the Court of Cassation, and several other Council officials.
On the Senegalese side, Mr. Jean Louis Paul Touban, Attorney General of the Supreme Court; Mr. Omar Caye, Chamber President; Mr. Jean Aloise Ndiaye, Chief of Staff to the President of the Supreme Court; and Mr. Hadji Biram Faye, Head of International Relations for the Supreme Court of Senegal.
