Ms Souad GOUGAS was appointed as a member of the Supreme Council of the Judicial Power on January 17, 2022, after being elected by the board of judges of the Courts of Appeals.

Ms. GOUGAS is a judge and a member of the National Network of Combating Human Trafficking.

Judge GOUGAS holds an LL. B. from the Faculty of Legal, Economic, and Social Sciences of Rabat (1993). She joined the Higher Institute of the Judiciary (1994-1996) and then served as deputy prosecutor of the King at the Court of First Instance of Sale (1997-2014), and as head of the Unit for Combating Violence against Women and Children (2004-2014). She also worked as deputy prosecutor of the King at the Court of Appeals of Rabat (2014-2020) and first-deputy prosecutor of the King at the same court (2021).

Ms. GOUGAS participated in several national and international forums and seminars on women, children, terrorism, and human rights.
