        <p>Mr. MOHAMED BENALILOU was appointed Mediator of the Kingdom by His Majesty King Mohammed VI on 18 December 2018.</p><p>Judge BENALILOU was born in 1975 and holds a postgraduate diploma in law. Previously, he held several judicial positions, including Counsellor at the Court of Cassation, judge at the Administrative Court of Rabat, an investigating judge at the Special Court of Justice of Rabat, and judge at the Court of First Instance of Tangier. He also assumed several administrative responsibilities and tasks, including Head of the Administrative Affairs and Training Pole at the Supreme Council of the Judicial Power, Director of Human Resources at the Ministry of Justice, Director of Studies, Cooperation and Modernization at the Ministry of Justice and Freedoms, Chief of the Cabinet of the Minister of Justice and Liberties, Adviser to the Minister of Justice in Criminal Policy, member of the National Committee on tax Appeals, and a member of the Financial Information Processing Unit.</p><p>Mr. BENALILOU held several advisory duties. He was nominated member of the High Committee on the Reform of the Justice System, a member of the National Advisory Team for the Project to Modernize Public Prosecutions in the Arab Countries within the framework of the United Nations Development Program, and a member of the Group of Governmental Experts presented by member states of the United Nations Convention against Corruption for showcase, a member of the Arab Governmental Experts Group (AGEG) on Self-Assessment of the United Nations Convention against Corruption, a founding member of the Arab Network for Combating Corruption and Supporting Integrity and Transparency, and a coordinator of the Moroccan central authority entrusted with receiving requests for mutual legal assistance and implementing and referring those requests to the relevant authorities in accordance with Article 46, paragraph 13 of the United Nations Convention against Corruption.</p><p>Mr. BENALILOU is a Professor of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure at the Higher Institute of the Judiciary, a visiting Professor at the Royal Institute of Territorial Administration, and a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Law, Economics, and Social Sciences of Rabat.</p><p>His Majesty King Mohammed VI awarded BENALILOU the National Reward Medal of the Senior Officer class.</p>
