Ms. Amina BOUAYACH


His Majesty King Mohammed VI appointed Ms. AMINA BOUAYACH President of the National Human Rights Council (CNDH) on December 6, 2018.

Ms. BOUAYACH holds a postgraduate diploma in political economics and a Master's degree in Economics from Mohammed VI University of Rabat.

Ms. BOUAYACH was appointed a communication advisor to the Ministers Council (1998- 2002) and served as Deputy Secretary General of the steering Committee for the elaboration of the Action Plan on democracy and human rights (2008-2010), and took part in the implementation of the recommendations of the Equity and Reconciliation Commission. Moreover, she chaired the Human Rights Organization in Morocco (2006-20015) and served as Vice-President of the International Federation for Human Rights in 2007, then was elected Secretary General of the same organization in 2013.

Ms. BOUAYACH was nominated as a member of the Advisory Constitutional Review Commission of 2011 and a member of the Board of Directors of the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Reintegration of Prisoners. She was also a member of several international bodies at the regional and international levels: International Humanitarian Law Commission and MENA Regional Forum for the ratification of the Optional Protocol to the United Nations Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (OPCAT). As well as a member of the African Policing Civilian Oversight Forum (APCOF), the Arab Organization for Human Rights, the NGOs Committee for the Reform of the League of Arab States, and the Freedom of Association Working Group in the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network (2009-2011).

Ms. BOUAYACH was appointed the Moroccan Ambassador to Sweden and Latvia in February 2016.

Ms. BOUAYACH was honored by His Majesty King Mohammed VI with the Order of the Throne of the third class (Officer) and the Order of the Throne of the Commander class in 2014 in recognition of her contribution as a member of the Advisory Constitution Review Commission of 2011. She was also decorated as an Officer of the Legion of Honor of the French Republic.
