The event complies with the royal directives of HM King Mohammed VI, may God Assist Him, which aim at the modernization and advancement of the judiciary, the preservation of the Higher Institute of Magistrates, and the enhancement of its training programs and methodologies. This initiative solidifies the commitment to the independence of the judiciary as outlined in the 2011 Constitution.

The handover ceremony of the chairmanship of the Board of Directors of the Higher Institute of Magistrates from the Minister of Justice, Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi, to the President Delegate of the Supreme Council of the Judicial Power, Mr. M'hammed Abdenabaoui, took place today, November 27, 2023, at the Higher Institute of Magistrates in Rabat, as per the stipulations of Law No. 37.22 on the Higher Institute of Magistrates.

By virtue of this law, the Higher Institute of Magistrates is tasked with providing initial training for trainee judges, along with specialized and ongoing training for judges in judicial administration. Additionally, the institute is mandated to conduct research, studies, and publications across various legal and judicial domains, and to collaborate with public and private entities, both nationally and internationally, as well as institutions with mutual interests.

Following the event, which was graced by the presence of various government officials, heads of constitutional and judicial institutions, and representatives from both national and international organizations, the inaugural meeting of the Institute’s Board of Directors was presided over by Mr. M'hammed Abdenabaoui, CSPJ President Delegate, in accordance with the new framework outlined in the recent Law on the Higher Institute of Magistrates.
