The meeting, which is the first of its kind with a high-level Austrian delegation, focused on exploring ways of cooperation and partnership, as well as fostering relations with the Austrian Supreme Court of Justice. The meeting was also an opportunity to review the Moroccan and Austrian experiences in the field of justice and independence of the judiciary.
In the same respect, the President Delegate emphasized the changes that marked the judicial system since the adoption of the Constitution of 2011, thus promoting in this regard the independence of both the judicial power and the Public Prosecution, while affirming that the Moroccan judiciary has witnessed comprehensive and profound reforms that have enshrined the independence of the judiciary.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Supreme Council of the Judicial Power and the Supreme Court of Justice of the Republic of Austria, to promote cooperation, exchange expertise as well as visits, and to hold joint activities in fields linked to judicial and legal affairs in both countries.
This meeting was attended by members of the board of the Supreme Council of the Judicial Power, the Council’ Secretary-General, the Inspector General of Judicial Affairs, and senior officials of the Council, in addition to the deputy of the first President of the Supreme Court and heads of its chambers.
